The Chapter Twenty-One Conference is an annual Chicago-based conference by and for twenty-something writers. We also put on lots of free online activities throughout the year, including Twitter chats (#Ch21Con), virtual write-ins, and more.

Ch21Con is one of two conferences orchestrated by Illinois-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Chapter One Events. The other conference is the Chapter One Young Writers Conference (for ages 11-20), which has been running since 2012. In 2017, several of the team members behind Ch1Con found themselves aging out of the younger conference, so they decided to create a spinoff conference for slightly older writers, who like them loved the purpose of Ch1Con but were no longer that younger conference’s target audience. And so, theĀ Chapter Twenty-One Conference was born.

The twenties are rough, man. We’ll get through them together.
